the parsley incident

Garry offered the birds some leftover parsley. The budgies immediately started eating it (they do love their greens).

The zebra finches handled the new introduction in true zebra fashion. Inky Pie got the bright idea that he could haul the whole parsley stem up to his nest and stuff it inside. Mohammed had a similar idea. He grabbed one of the branches and started tugging it towards his nest. Luna, meanwhile, wanted to peck at the tasty leaves.

The birds tussled, chased one another, and tussled some more. Mohammed managed to get the end into his nest box, and tried to chase Luna and Inky Pie away.  They tag-teamed him beautifully, and the whole stem of parsley fell to the floor of the aviary.

Quite entertaining.
